Mitchell Janet’s career has focused on developing and launching new products and began in consumer packaged goods for CBS Video Games – Foxfire® and John Madden Football®, Playtex International – WOW® (WithOutWire), Dannon Yogurt and Duracell, Inc. During an eleven-year career with Duracell, Janet became Vice President of Marketing, North America where she led the team that created and launched Duracell Ultra® the category’s first high-tech device specific alkaline battery which became a $110M business in its first year in distribution, becoming the single most successful new product launch in battery category history. As Chief Marketing Officer, Janet has developed and launched four start-ups in the last eight years in Austin, one to over $100M business and recognized as #6 in the Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies in 2006 by PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Startups include living.com, SmartPrice.com, Newgistics, Inc. and The Mitchell Group Consulting. Janet is a member of the Board of Directors of the Texas Advocacy Project and Badgerdog Literary Publishing and is the past Board President of the Austin Visual Arts Association, Austin’s oldest nonprofit arts organization. Janet is a graduate of the 2005-2006 Leadership Austin class and holds a BS degree in Business Administration from Babson College and an MBA, graduating with honors, from the University of Connecticut. Through her career, Caver has gained exposure for her clients and former employers with the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Associated Press, Reuters, ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox News, ESPN, Forbes, Bloomberg, U.S. News and World Report as well as local, regional and trade mediums. However, Caver believes PR in today’s world it is not necessarily about media - it’s about engagement through communication and a story that resonates. It can be through vehicles and strategies that include digital media, web, internal communications, speeches, newsletters, reputation and issues management, crisis communication, events, thought-leadership and yes - media. Developing the stories and creating a strategic path for the stories to be heard is the way she believes in working with clients. As the leader of communications teams at both a globally respected non-profit and a nationally recognized public university, Caver has led national public relations campaigns. She has partnered with Fortune 500 corporations, national organizations and universities, helping each achieve citizenship goals while expanding the reach of her own organizations. She has produced award-winning marketing publications that reached financial and marketplace positioning goals. In media relations, she has worked locally, nationally and internationally in both promotional and crisis roles. She has been selected by the United States Olympic Committee to lend her media relations services to Olympic events on three occasions, and has handled local media for events with NATO, the United Nations and the British Consulate. Caver is an alumnus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and is a Certified Crisis Manager. She enjoys the role of mentor for young communications professionals and is a frequent speaker on communications topics. Dana Kraft
Dana’s focus at The Mitchell Group Consulting is product and go-to-market strategy. Dana has led successful engagements for firms in industries as diverse as software, intermodal transportation, IP commercialization, high-tech hardware and education. Prior to joining The Mitchell Group Consulting, Dana was a Venture Consultant at Austin Ventures’ incubator (AV Labs) where he joined a team from McKinsey & Co. to found Salion, an enterprise software company. As Employee #1, Dana defined the product vision, go-to-market strategy and helped secure the company’s first four customers. Dana began his career in the financial services industry with TeleBanc (currently E*Trade Bank), where he focused on strategic financing ($125M raised over 5 years) and asset acquisition (500% asset growth). Dana was also instrumental in positioning TeleBanc as an internet growth opportunity prior to its acquisition by E*Trade. Dana holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship from The University of Texas McComb’s School of Business and a BS in Mathematics from Georgetown University. José Marrero
Through JAM Latino, José has worked with general market agencies and clients to create some of the most successful Hispanic and general market advocacy campaigns in Texas, including the introduction of the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), TxDOT’s "Click It or Ticket It" and Jaqui Saburido anti drunk-driving campaign and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s “Education. Go Get it.” campaign. On a national and regional level, José has worked with Anheuser Busch, USAA, HEB, Time Warner Cable, Luby’s, Yates Construction and AT&T Wireless. Anna McGarity
Anna has more than 10 years nonprofit experience, helping organizations develop their identity through creative design and communications. She is uniquely skilled in both the visual design world, working in both print and web, as well as having a strong writing and editing background. Anna has a passion for helping educational organizations articulate their mission and furthering their reach into the community. Most recently, Anna held the position of Sr. Marketing Communications Coordinator at Capital IDEA, a nonprofit committed to sponsoring the education of underemployed central Texans where she lead all the marketing and communications projects and strategies. Anna holds a BA in English and Writing from the University of Maryland and an MA in Publication Design from the University of Baltimore. Marc Nall
Marc brings over 25 years executive sales leadership experience in multiple industries such as consumer products, database software and reverse logistics to the challenge having worked for large corporations such as Carnation Foods, 2-Alarm Chili (A division of Noxell), ArtCarved, Pervasive Software, G-Tech and early stage startups including Newgistics and BriarPatch Opportunities. One of Marc’s unique skills is his ability to develop and drive success in all stages of the sales cycle. Marc is a proven leader, mentor and coach helping clients develop their internal capabilities. Marc has a BBA of Marketing from Texas A&M University. Tracey Nelson
The focus of Tracey’s twenty-plus years of marketing experience has been on strategic growth and revenue generation for companies spanning multiple channels in the consumer products and services industries, with a successful track record of building new businesses, new products and strategic alliances. Serving in senior strategic brand management or consulting positions for world-class multinational brands such as Polo/Ralph Lauren, FILA Sports, Turner Broadcasting and Nine West, Tracey has been responsible for creating and communicating brand strategy, directing strategic planning, advertising, public relations, licensing, creative services and market research. She has an MBA in International Management, with honors, from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird) and a BS in Sociology from Arizona State University.

With more than 14 years of experience in the marketing field, Ivy has provided brand strategy and multi-disciplinary marketing services to organizations ranging from startup to fortune 500 companies.

Emma is expert in communications strategy development, graphic design, illustration, marketing communications, advertising, sales promotion, corporate identity and packaging. Emma is an accomplished commercial artist and children’s book author with her first book hitting store shelves in the fall of 2008 published by Random House. Emma’s experience ranges from national brands and nonprofits such as Infinity Broadcasting, Save The Children®, and The United Way to local emerging companies such as CyrusOne, WaterTexas, The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and Texas Classroom Teachers Association. Emma holds a BFA in graphic design and illustration from Southwest Texas State University. William Zhang
Will's diverse background and expertise has resulted in a multitude of clients, ranging from Fortune 500 companies such as Newmont Mining Corporation to a variety of local start-up and small businesses in the Austin area. He has also completed an extensive range of work for charities, including websites for Texas 4000, and his own personal project Kili for Kids. Will holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas.
