Janet M. Mitchell
President and CEO

Janet MitchellJanet M. Mitchell is President & CEO of The Mitchell Group Consulting, a sales and marketing agency based out of Austin, TX that helps organizations achieve their growth plans by improving sales, marketing and creative. Clients range from Fortune 500 and mid-market companies to startups and nonprofits.

Janet’s career has focused on developing and launching new products and began in consumer packaged goods for CBS Video Games – Foxfire® and John Madden Football®, Playtex International – WOW® (WithOutWire), Dannon Yogurt and Duracell, Inc.

During an eleven-year career with Duracell, Janet became Vice President of Marketing, North America where she led the team that created and launched Duracell Ultra® the category’s first high-tech device specific alkaline battery which became a $110M business in its first year in distribution, becoming the single most successful new product launch in battery category history.

As Chief Marketing Officer, Janet has developed and launched four start-ups in the last eight years in Austin, one to over $100M business and recognized as #6 in the Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies in 2006 by PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Startups include living.com, SmartPrice.com, Newgistics, Inc. and The Mitchell Group Consulting.

Janet is a member of the Board of Directors of the Texas Advocacy Project and Badgerdog Literary Publishing and is the past Board President of the Austin Visual Arts Association, Austin’s oldest nonprofit arts organization.

Janet is a graduate of the 2005-2006 Leadership Austin class and holds a BS degree in Business Administration from Babson College and an MBA, graduating with honors, from the University of Connecticut.

Matt Manroe
Executive Creative Director

Matt MonroeMatt is a creative talent that understands strategy. He has vast experience in many arenas. He is a smart marketing branding individual and has experience in digital media. But also with his agency creative background he knows production both traditional and online.

Formerly as Executive Creative Director of DigiTango, Matt joined Charlie Uniform Tango, a broadcast commercial editorial house, to introduce online production to the company’s editorial and production capabilities. His digital capabilities range from design to digital strategy and is uniquely capable of integrating the traditional and online marketing worlds.

Prior as the Executive Creative Director at nFusion, an integrated marketing agency in Austin. Over seven years Matt helped the agency grow from zero to over 10 million in annual revenue helping the agency to be named Austin’s fastest growing company and listed 83rd on the Inc. 500 list of the nation’s fastest growing companies. While at nFusion, Matt lead the creative group to winning national and regional awards for integrated and online creative work from advertising to web design for Anheuser-Busch, Toshiba, 20th Century Fox, Nortel, Wilshire Homes, Comerica Bank and NEC Display Solutions.

Matt has been a creative powerhouse in the marketing industry. Working at advertising agencies in Dallas and Chicago he worked on clients such as JCPenney, American Airlines, Frito-Lay, Pepsi, Coors Beer, GTE, NationsBank and Long John Silver’s. He has enjoyed the prestige of being a Clio award winner, listed in “Who’s Who in Advertising”, nominated to Adweek Magazine’s Creative All-Star Team as National Television Art Director of the Year and being the recipient of numerous national ADDYs and best of show awards.

With 20+ years in the business, Matt has extensive and broad ranging experience, from creating and managing all aspects of national, award winning campaigns to developing aggressive retail programs designed to drive immediate sales. He has worked at national agencies such as The Richards Group, Tracy-Locke, BJK&E, Foote, Cone & Belding, NW Ayer and Temerlin McClain. Matt is an expert in all media — from broadcast, to print, direct marketing and interactive marketing.  

A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a B.S. in advertising.

Bonnie Caver
Public Relations and Reputation Management

Bonnie CaverBonnie Caver, is a strategic partner with The Mitchell Group Consulting and President and Founder of Caver Public Relations. Bonnie is a 19-year public relations veteran who brings a unique perspective to her firm, approaching each relationship from the client’s viewpoint, as that is where she has spent much of her career.

Through her career, Caver has gained exposure for her clients and former employers with the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Associated Press, Reuters, ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox News, ESPN, Forbes, Bloomberg, U.S. News and World Report as well as local, regional and trade mediums.

However, Caver believes PR in today’s world it is not necessarily about media - it’s about engagement through communication and a story that resonates. It can be through vehicles and strategies that include digital media, web, internal communications, speeches, newsletters, reputation and issues management, crisis communication, events, thought-leadership and yes - media. Developing the stories and creating a strategic path for the stories to be heard is the way she believes in working with clients.

As the leader of communications teams at both a globally respected non-profit and a nationally recognized public university, Caver has led national public relations campaigns. She has partnered with Fortune 500 corporations, national organizations and universities, helping each achieve citizenship goals while expanding the reach of her own organizations. She has produced award-winning marketing publications that reached financial and marketplace positioning goals. In media relations, she has worked locally, nationally and internationally in both promotional and crisis roles. She has been selected by the United States Olympic Committee to lend her media relations services to Olympic events on three occasions, and has handled local media for events with NATO, the United Nations and the British Consulate.

Caver is an alumnus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and is a Certified Crisis Manager. She enjoys the role of mentor for young communications professionals and is a frequent speaker on communications topics.

Holly Edger
Marketing Strategist/Account Executive

Marc NallWith more than 14 years of agency and Fortune 500 experience with companies as diverse as FedEx, GE, HP, IBM, Sybase, AMD, RedHat, OfficeMax, Precious Moments and CDW, Holly brings a deep understanding of how to drive measurable results in a wide range of marketing disciplines. She demonstrates a proven track record for developing and managing effective campaigns and her talent overseeing agency-client relationships has earned her numerous accolades and awards.

Throughout her career, Holly has demonstrated excellence in communications, diverse marketing expertise, extensive media know-how, and an innate critical thinking ability. And her deep understanding of the marketing function enables her to interact with the entire marketing team, positioning her as a master in developing concise company and product positioning and campaigns which deliver exceptional lead generation and sales results.

In addition to serving her clients, Holly is active with numerous non-profit organizations and she sits on the board of Partnerships for Children and the Texas arm of Cancer for College.

Holly is an alumna of the University of Michigan, and also holds an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management.

Julie Farnie
Production Manager

Julie FarnieJulie Farnie is a marketing communications manager with nearly twenty years of experience. She has worked both agency and client side, developing, producing and managing marketing and advertising campaigns.

Agency experience includes estimating, project and and print management of collateral, direct mail, catalogs, POP and signage, as well as developing, writing, managing and producing print and broadcast materials. Client side activities include managing marketing departments to develop, produce and manage fulfillment of corporate collateral, advertising, direct mail, partner materials and sales tools, as well as developing and executing a production processes globally within a marketing department to ensure brand consistency.

Richard Hefferman
Creative Director/Copywriter

Richard HeffermanRichard Heffernan is a creative director and brand strategist with more than 15 years of experience working with a variety of clients in the consumer and B2B space, including Anhueuser-Busch, Astrotech, BMC Software, Comerica Bank, Fox Movie Studios, McCoy’s, Motion Computing, NEC, Nokia and The First Tee.

Heffernan helps clients discover the stories that bring their brands to life, and tell those stories in a compelling, persuasive manner that connects with target audiences. 

Before founding Richard Heffernan Creative, Heffernan served as VP, Group Creative Director at nFusion in Austin, where he led a creative team that developed successful, award-winning campaigns across all media, including websites, online banners, interactive video, social media, broadcast and print.

Heffernan holds a B.A. in Philosophy from DePaul University.  

Dana Kraft
Product Strategist

Dana KraftDana Kraft is a principal with The Mitchell Group Consulting, and draws on more than fifteen years of experience in strategic marketing at emerging, high-growth companies.

Dana’s focus at The Mitchell Group Consulting is product and go-to-market strategy.  Dana has led successful engagements for firms in industries as diverse as software, intermodal transportation, IP commercialization, high-tech hardware and education.

Prior to joining The Mitchell Group Consulting, Dana was a Venture Consultant at Austin Ventures’ incubator (AV Labs) where he joined a team from McKinsey & Co. to found Salion, an enterprise software company.  As Employee #1, Dana defined the product vision, go-to-market strategy and helped secure the company’s first four customers.

Dana began his career in the financial services industry with TeleBanc (currently E*Trade Bank), where he focused on strategic financing ($125M raised over 5 years) and asset acquisition (500% asset growth).  Dana was also instrumental in positioning TeleBanc as an internet growth opportunity prior to its acquisition by E*Trade. 

Dana holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship from The University of Texas McComb’s School of Business and a BS in Mathematics from Georgetown University.

Larry Lane
Web Technologist & Digital Media Strategist

Dana KraftLarry is a multi-disciplined web technologist and digital media strategist with over 15 years development experience in web, mobile and digital technologies. With his agency background he knows how to concept digital media products from the consumer perspective to maximize marketing results. As a technologist, he knows how to connect the ones and zeros to ensure efficient production and broad usability. As a strategist, Larry sees beyond the project to understand how the digital piece fits in the context of the consumer conversion funnel to directly affect the brand presence, relevance, experience and influence.

Larry is founder and CEO of Continion, a digital brand development firm that helps emerging and mid-size companies with cost-effective solutions for digital media creation and integrated digital campaign management spanning web, search, social and mobile. Prior as User Experience Director at Kolar Advertising & Marketing, he helped craft digital brand campaigns for Fortune 100 to regional clients including Dell, 3M, Subway, US Army, Cargill, Baylor, and Austin CVB.

Larry is a recognized Austin Ad Fed Big Wig as Best Website Development Person of 2008. His project accolades include National Gold ADDY winner, W3 Gold winner and Webby Nominee Runner-up.

Larry has as a B.A. in Government from The University of Texas at Austin.

Robert Matney
Social Media Manager

Marc NallRobert Matney builds communities and tells trans-media stories online and off. He is a web, internet, and mobile technology consultant and developer, using social and mobile computing to solve business and community challenges for a diverse set of international clients.

Robert is Director of Technology at Hidden Room Theatre, and Board Trustee for Austin Shakespeare.

Robert was a panelist at the 2011 South By Southwest Interactive conference and the 2011 Fusebox Festival. Robert will speak at SXSWi 2012 on “Performance and Technology: Keeping Arts Alive” with panelists from Disney Imagineering, the Roundhouse in London, and the National Endowment for the Arts. You can battle Robert’s voice in the shape of DC Universe Online’s video-game villain Doctor Psycho.

Ivy OliverIvy Oliver
Creative Director/Demand Generation

Ivy Oliver is a senior partner with The Mitchell Group Consulting and founder and president of Oliver Marketing Group. With more than 14 years of experience in the marketing field, Ivy has provided brand strategy and multi-disciplinary marketing services to organizations ranging from startup to fortune 500 companies.

Ivy combines her unique knowledge of brand strategy, graphic design and strategic marketing communications to help organizations find and connect with their target audiences.  She believes that a strong foundation in brand strategy combined with consistent marketplace execution is key for brands to effectively build and maintain momentum.

Ivy's experience includes work with companies such as Avaya, eLoyalty, AIG, Citibank, MCI, Convio, Dell, Alienware, Planview, Inquisite, AMPM Medical Billing Management, CaseFileXpress, Health Care Intelligence, MMC Group, Small World Labs, SpineSmith, Sharp Propane, Bridge360, Texas Optometric Association, The American Heart Association, and Horizon Educational Resources.

Ivy's project work has been highlighted in a several publications including EXHIBITOR Magazine, Graphic Design USA magazine, Salesforce XP magazine, Impressions magazine, as well as two books American Corporate Identity and The Big Book of Green Design.

Ivy has won multiple Golden Pyramid Awards and been honored by EXHIBITOR Magazine with both a Sizzle Award for Inquisite, Inc., and a Special Merit Design Award in Green Exhibit for Dell, Inc.

She holds a B.S. in marketing, with a minor degree in management information systems, from Texas A&M University.

Stacy StroudStacy Stroud
Copywriter

Stacy Stroud is an accomplished copywriter.

Based in Austin, Texas, she supports business and consumer products companies around the country in advertising collateral, promotional campaigns and branding.


Emma Virjan
Art Director

Emma VirjanEmma Virjan is art director with The Mitchell Group Consulting helping clients develop their visual identity and communications.

Emma is expert in communications strategy development, graphic design, illustration, marketing communications, advertising, sales promotion, corporate identity and packaging.

Emma is an accomplished commercial artist and children’s book author with her first book hitting store shelves in the fall of 2008 published by Random House.

Emma’s experience ranges from national brands and nonprofits such as Infinity Broadcasting, Save The Children®, and The United Way to local emerging companies such as CyrusOne, WaterTexas, The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and Texas Classroom Teachers Association.

Emma holds a BFA in graphic design and illustration from Southwest Texas State University.

William Zhang
Art Director

Emma VirjanWilliam Zhang is an interactive designer with over 12 years experience in web site creation, desktop publishing, and interactive multimedia. Will has an extensive technical background, having developed several interactive applications ranging from touch panel interfaces for next-generation vending machines to extensive Web 2.0 applications.

Will's diverse background and expertise has resulted in a multitude of clients, ranging from Fortune 500 companies such as Newmont Mining Corporation to a variety of local start-up and small businesses in the Austin area. He has also completed an extensive range of work for charities, including websites for Texas 4000, and his own personal project Kili for Kids.

Will holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas.
